The Gallery

Ever changing exhibits representing local, national and international artists make a visit to the gallery a great experience. Occasional estate sales of hard to find art, silver items, B&G, Royal & DJ figurines and West Indian antique furniture, in addition to special Jewelry make it a fun place to visit, and browse “The Back-Room Fleamarket” for a special find.

We also offer one of a kind, handmade jewelry, locally made pottery, Giclees, prints and special note-cards. West Indian Antiques, collectibles and fun items from estate sales make the gallery a great place to browse and find something really special.

The gallery is available for meetings, special events and wine-tastings, a perfect place when you want it to be “different and fun”.

The Hosts

Hanne & Bent

HANNE
I came to New York in 1965 to work at the Danish Pavilion at the World's Fair, went on to St. Croix for vacation, got "sand in my shoes" -fell in love with the island and the people, and stayed. It has been a wonderful adventure, 40 years in the restaurant-business, and now the opportunity to work with our great, local artists, and artists from other parts of the world. Opened a small gallery a few years ago, and expanded to street-level space, where the art really "pops". I love working in the gallery, and it is a terrific 2nd career. Very satisfying to find just the right piece of art for our clients.

BENT
Bent is a classically trained European chef, taking a well-deserve break from cooking. In addition Bent has always been a photographer, and has exhibited his work many times over the years; his passion being portraits, finding the character and beauty in young as well as old. At times his work will be available at the gallery.

Where We Live

The Building

SET IN A PLACE WITH TRADITIONS RUNNING LONG BACK.
Over the many years the historic building, dating back to the 1850’ies, has been used for different purposes, mainly retail on the first floor, and the 2nd floor a family home, a well known local doctor’s office (Dr. Canegata), and an upscale restaurant for over 35 years (Top Hat). Now the building is often called the Top Hat Building referring to the antique sign on the street.
